The FCM Archives Project grew out of our celebration of FCM’s 65th Birthday.  We began an effort to locate concert programs for every season, which led us to the Denver Public Library, home of the FCM archives.  Sorting through boxes of files, we uncovered fascinating details about FCM’s history.

We hope to share the most delightful bits in this blog, beginning with FCM’s early years.  It all started in 1954 when a group of music lovers new to Denver came together over the question, “Where can we go to hear the Budapest Quartet?”  A $10.00 membership was the price to attend five concerts in our first season, which featured the Reginald Kell Players, the Griller Quartet, and, of course, the Budapest Quartet.  A series was born!
