Quartetto di Cremona and Basil Vendryes, viola

“It’s a rare blend: breadth of sound and capriciousness combined with perfect tuning and ensemble has the players sounding absolutely of one voice… Nothing less than life-affirming.” — Gramophone

This talented ensemble from Italy makes their FCM debut with local favorite, Colorado Symphony violist Basil Vendryes.  Since its formation in 2000, the quartet has been invited to perform at major music festivals and halls around the world. In addition to quartets by Debussy and Golijov, Vendryes will join the quartet for one of Brahms’s late works, his String Quintet No. 2.
