The acclaimed Orpheus Chamber Orchestra returns to Friends of Chamber Music in a brilliant program, “Home, Suite Home,” featuring works by Handel, Haydn, and Mozart. Award-winning British pianist Isata Kanneh-Mason makes her FCM debut, joining Orpheus for Mozart’s crowning Viennese concerto.
The program spans musical worlds and cities, from Handel’s sparkling Water Music suites, written for London audiences, to a Haydn symphony composed for Paris. Welsh composer and New York transplant Katie Jenkins adds a contemporary voice with Elixir of Life, a Colorado premiere co-commissioned through FCM’s Commissioning Initiative.
It’s a program that brings together the elegance of the classical tradition, the energy of a world-class chamber orchestra, and the excitement of new music—all in one unforgettable afternoon.
