Music in the Galleries: The Playground Ensemble

Join us for this special Mother’s Day program, designed to inspire audiences of all ages!

The Playground Ensemble, in residence at Metro State University of Denver, is the Rocky Mountain Region’s premier new music group. They are professional musicians, composers, educators and fans dedicated to presenting chamber music as a living art form.

The ensemble promotes the music of our time through performance, new music commissions, community outreach, and education, including their innovative Soundpainting program for schools.   Their goal is to provide stimulating performances, expand common perceptions of both contemporary music and the chamber ensemble, and nurture a community around the music that they love.

PROGRAM:
  • Villa Lobos:  Jet Whistle
  • Jennifer Higdon:  Dash
  • Tristan Murail: Une relecture des Scenes d’enfants (Kinderszenen) Op. 15 par Robert Schumann
