Leif Ove Andsnes, piano

“A pianist of magisterial elegance, power, and insight” – The New York Times

Friends of Chamber Music presents distinguished Norwegian pianist Leif Ove Andsnes in his long-awaited debut on the Piano Series.  Having just added a seventh Gramophone Award to his already extensive string of honors, Andsnes will showcase his interpretation of Dvořák’s unjustly neglected piano cycle, Poetic Tone Pictures, alongside works by Beethoven, Janáček, Vustin and Silvestrov.

PRE-CONCERT TALK:  Join us at 6:30 PM for a pre-concert talk by pianist and educator Dr. Aaron Stampfl, a new member of FCM’s Music Committee and coordinator of keyboard studies of piano at Colorado Christian University.  Stampfl earned a Masters in Music from Indiana University and a Doctorate in Music from Northwestern University.

Doors will open at 6:15 PM with the pre-concert talk starting promptly at 6:30 PM.  Doors will reopen for general seating at 7 PM.

Note:  This concert will be live-streamed; tickets are available through the Newman Center Box Office.
