Le Consort

Formed in Paris, this vibrant Baroque ensemble will be presented as a special event in partnership with Augustana Arts.

A Trio Sonata Soiree

Friends of Chamber Music welcomes the acclaimed French early music ensemble Le Consort for its Colorado debut, presented in collaboration with Augustana Arts as part of our Friend in New Places series.

Formed in Paris in 2015, Le Consort has quickly become one of Europe’s leading Baroque ensembles, devoted to the trio sonata — a vibrant chamber music form that flourished across 17th- and 18th-century Europe. Featuring two violins, cello, and harpsichord, the ensemble brings fresh vitality and color to works by J.S. Bach, Georg Philipp Telemann, Francesco Geminiani, and French masters including Jean-François Dandrieu and Michel Pignolet de Montéclair.

Ensemble:

  • Théotime Langlois de Swarte, violin
  • Sophie de Bardonneche, violin
  • Hanna Salzenstein, cello
  • Justin Taylor, harpsichord

Praised as “ravishing, exhilarating, and uniquely beautiful” (BBC Music Magazine), Le Consort is celebrated for its virtuosic playing, stylistic insight, and expressive flair.
