Friends of Chamber Music presents pianist Jeremy Denk in an On Demand virtual recital, available January 20-27, 2021.

Denk is one of America’s foremost pianists.  Winner of a MacArthur Fellowship and the Avery Fisher Prize, he was recently elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.  He is also widely known for his original and insightful writing about music.  This performance, recorded at WGBH in Boston, highlights work by three essential composers of the Romantic era:  Robert and Clara Schumann and Johannes Brahms.  The program also features Missy Mazzoli’s Bolts of Loving Thunder, composed in 2013 for pianist Emanuel Ax and inspired by what she calls the “romantic and stormy idea of Brahms.”
