Some things are simply better shared—like live chamber music performed in uncommon places. Bring a date or gather your friends for a special night out with the dynamic Ivalas Quartet, who will perform an unforgettable concert in Denver’s historic Clock Tower, overlooking downtown Denver. Enjoy complimentary drinks while you explore the historic clock and sweeping views of the city prior to the start of the concert. The quartet will perform “Fate and Yearning,” inspired by the existential questions posed by composers from different generations. The program will include Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 16 in F Major, Op. 135, Alvin Singleton’s Somehow We Can, and Mendelssohn’s String Quartet No. 2 in A Minor, Op. 13. Thursday, September 26, 6:30 PM.
FCM first presented the talented Ivalas Quartet when they were the Graduate String Quartet in Residence at CU-Boulder. This year, the ensemble finished a fellowship year as Graduate String Quartet in Residence at the Juilliard School in New York City. FCM is thrilled to present them during their Colorado tour this September.
