He performs with the Mendelssohn Trio\, Ivy Street Ensemble\, Candlelight Concerts\, and serves as Artistic Director of the Front Range Chamber Players. Formerly a 28-year member of the Colorado Symphony\, Erik has also held concertmaster roles with Great Falls Symphony\, Opera Steamboat\, and currently with Canto Deo and the Metropolitan Choral Festival Orchestra. Now focused on chamber music and teaching\, Erik brings his artistry to stages and students across Colorado. \n\nRachel Ellins\, harpHarpist Rachel Ellins is a performer\, teacher\, and arranger known for her vibrant solo and chamber music work across Northern Colorado. She is principal harpist with the Longmont Symphony and a frequent guest with the Colorado Symphony. DESCRIPTION:Koa is the Graduate String Quartet-in-Residence at the University of Colorado Boulder where they were the first prize winners of the 2024 Ekstrand Competition. Koa is invested in fostering musical engagement with students and presenting high quality classical music for community audiences. DESCRIPTION:Gwenyth Aggeler is a classical guitarist whose performances have been described by the Cultural Voice of North Carolina as “full of energy” and “striking.” She is a laureate of several national and international competitions including the Peter Segal First Prize in the 2023 Philadelphia Classical Guitar Competition\, first prize in the University of Louisville Guitar Competition\, and first prize in the Domaine Forget de Charlevoix Guitar Competition. Gwenyth performed on NPR’s radio program From the Top in 2019 and was later featured in their livestream series.   Gwenyth is passionate about collaborating with composers to premiere new works for her instrument and has performed in two world premieres of works commissioned by the Baltimore Classical Guitar Society. \nGwenyth began playing guitar through an extracurricular program at her elementary school. DESCRIPTION:FCM welcomes Italian guitarist Nicolò Spera for our first Music in the Galleries of the season.  Nicolò is one of the few guitarists in the world to perform on both six-string and ten-string guitars\, as well as on the theorbo. Committed to commissioning substantial works that explore unprecedented ways of writing for guitar\, Nicolò has commissioned\, performed\, and recorded new works ranging from solos to programs with choirs\, small ensembles\, and orchestras. \nNicolò holds degrees from the Conservatory of Bolzano and the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena\, an Artist Diploma in Guitar Performance at the University of Denver\, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Colorado Boulder. DESCRIPTION:For our final  “Music in the Galleries” of the season\, FCM is excited to present Brazilian-born violinist Mariama Alcântara.  She will be performing works by J.S. Bach\, as well as Flausino Vale and André Mehmari\, both featured composers on her new album\, Brazilian Landscapes. \nDr. Mariama Alcântara has earned recognition for her artistry as a solo\, chamber\, and orchestral musician. Mariama grew up in a musical family\, making her solo debut at the age of 12 with the Paraiba Symphony Orchestra. The music may be enjoyed from any gallery. \nPresented in partnership with the Clyfford Still Museum. \n23-year-old cellist Ernie Wolfgang Carbajal began playing the cello at five years old. He is pursuing a master’s degree at Denver University’s Lamont School of Music where he is a teaching  assistant under Professor Matthew Zalkind. In 2019 he received recognition from the city of Los Angeles for a performance of Georges Boulane’s Symphonie Concertante with Dale Breidenthal and the Afro American Chamber Music Society Orchestra.  He is also the recipient of a Carl Becker cello (1914)\, on loan from the Colburn Instrument Collection.  Carbajal’s non-musical interests include writing\, walking\, and keeping reptiles and aquatic pets. \nAs a cellist\, Dylan Tyree regularly enjoys playing chamber music\, recital repertoire\, rock concerts\, symphonic music\, and everything in between. Most recently\, Dylan premiered Eric Whitacre’s The Sacred Veil for cello soloist\, string orchestra\, and mixed choir at the Newman Center for the Performing Arts with Eric Whitacre conducting. \nActive as a composer/arranger\, Dylan has received top prizes in various competitions including the 2021 ASCAP Foundation Morton Gould Young Composer Awards.  Dylan was awarded the “Outstanding Student in Composition” award from the Lamont School of Music in 2022. \n

Hyatte has also participated in a number of summer music festivals including the Pienza Music Festival in Italy\, Eastern Music Festival\, and Sphinx Performance Academy. Patrick currently serves as an inaugural young alumni board for GTCYS and is pursuing a master’s degree in Violin Performance at the University of Denver Lamont School of Music under the tutelage of Linda Wang. \n  \n23-year-old cellist Ernie Wolfgang Carbajal began playing the cello at five years old. DESCRIPTION:In November\, Music in the Galleries will feature the Noor Quartet\, with violinists Nina Fronjian and Brune Macary\, as well as violist Aniel Cabán and cellist Joseph Howe. \nThe Noor Quartet has brought vibrant\, versatile performances to Denver’s Front Range since 2016. The ensemble enjoys collaborating with local organizations to present concerts in community settings. Their eclectic repertoire has included complete works from the classical string quartet repertoire along with tango selections and covers of songs by Radiohead\, the Shins\, or the Beatles. \nFor tickets purchased online\, FCM patrons receive $2 off adult and senior tickets with code MUSIC. \nFor the health and well-being of our community\, all visitors ages three and over are required to wear face coverings inside the Museum.  \nPresented in partnership with:

DESCRIPTION:We are thrilled to return to the Clyfford Still Museum with the popular Music in the Galleries series.  Enjoy live music as you wander the Clyfford Still galleries with performances by The Patterson/Sutton Duo at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. The performances are included with museum admission.  For tickets purchased online\, FCM patrons receive $2 off adult and senior tickets with code MUSIC. \nPraised by The Strad magazine for their “wit and imagination\,” the trailblazing Patterson/Sutton Duo continue to be in demand as they bring the rich cello and guitar repertoire to audiences around the world. The Patterson/Sutton Duo have an ongoing relationship with The Juilliard School as Juilliard Global Visiting Artists. Dr. Kimberly Patterson holds degrees from The Juilliard School\, the Cleveland Institute of Music\, and the University of Colorado at Boulder. Dr. Patrick Sutton holds degrees from the University of Denver and the University of Colorado at Boulder. DESCRIPTION:Join us on Sunday\, April 19 – at either 1 PM or 2 PM – for “Music in the Galleries\,” featuring the Moxie String Quartet. \n(Typically the second Sunday of the month\, this performance has been moved to avoid the Easter holiday.) \nThe Moxie String Quartet is an ensemble of professional\, locally based musicians Nina Fronjian and Brune Macary\, violins; Aniel Cabán\, viola; and Joseph Howe\, cello. Their program will include Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 2 in G Major\, Op. 18\, No. 2 and Radiohead’s Paranoid Android.  Members of the quartet perform with a variety of area orchestras\, symphonies\, ensembles\, and chamber orchestras. \nJoin us for a program as exciting and eclectic as the record collection of Clyfford Still that inspires it. Experience live performances surrounded by Still’s vibrant paintings and award-winning architecture.
