SUMMARY:Le Consort
DESCRIPTION:A Trio Sonata Soiree \nFriends of Chamber Music welcomes the acclaimed French early music ensemble Le Consort for its Colorado debut\, presented in collaboration with Augustana Arts as part of our Friend in New Places series. \nFormed in Paris in 2015\, Le Consort has quickly become one of Europe’s leading Baroque ensembles\, devoted to the trio sonata — a vibrant chamber music form that flourished across 17th- and 18th-century Europe. Featuring two violins\, cello\, and harpsichord\, the ensemble brings fresh vitality and color to works by J.S. Bach\, Georg Philipp Telemann\, Francesco Geminiani\, and French masters including Jean-François Dandrieu and Michel Pignolet de Montéclair. \nEnsemble: \n\nThéotime Langlois de Swarte\, violin\nSophie de Bardonneche\, violin\nHanna Salzenstein\, cello\nJustin Taylor\, harpsichord\n\nPraised as “ravishing\, exhilarating\, and uniquely beautiful” (BBC Music Magazine)\, Le Consort is celebrated for its virtuosic playing\, stylistic insight\, and expressive flair. \nPRE-CONCERT TALK:  Join us in Augustana’s Fellowship Hall at 6:30 PM for a pre-concert talk with several members of the Le Consort ensemble\, moderated by harpsichordist\, pianist and music director Jerimiah Otto.  Jerimiah is a core member of the Denver based Seicento Baroque Ensemble\, and owner of the harpsichord which will take center stage for Le Consort’s performance.  On March 27th he will travel to Paris for the French premiere of his original transcription of William Grant Still’s 5th Symphony. \n  \nNote:  This concert is not included in 2025-26 season ticket packages.  Interested in using your flex vouchers?  Click here for more information. \nCo-presented with Augustana Arts \n \n  \n  \nThank you to CPR Classical\, sponsor of this event \n \n  \n \n
