Music in the Galleries: Spektral Quartet

Sunday, December 8, 2019, 1:00 pm
Clyfford Still Museum
Tickets:  Free with Admission to the museum

Join us on Sunday, December 8 - at either 1 PM or 2 PM - for "Music in the Galleries," featuring the Spektral Quartet, launching a four-day Denver residency. Named “Chicagoans of the Year” (2017), Spektral is known for creating seamless connections across centuries, drawing in the listener with charismatic deliveries and bold, inquisitive programming.

Spektral Quartet performs “captivating” (New York Times) composer Tonia Ko’s work Plain, Air for string quartet and electronics, presented in dialogue with Still: Elemental, an exploration of Clyfford Still’s work in relation to the Classical Greek elements of the universe: earth, water, air, fire, and aether.

"Music in the Galleries" is offered in partnership with the Clyfford Still Museum and Swallow Hill Music.  If you share Still’s appreciation for music, join us for this live performance in the galleries to experience his work through both sight and sound.

Music is free with admission to the galleries. As a part of our partnership, the museum is offering FCM patrons $5 half-price tickets (if purchased in advance) to enter the museum on performance days. To purchase discounted tickets, click here, and use Discount Code MIGPartners.

Please join us for one of these two identical performances:

1:00 - 1:45 PM
2:00 - 2:45 PM

Note:  Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
