Music in the Galleries: Ivalas Quartet
Join us on Sunday, February 9 - at either 1 PM or 2 PM - for "Music in the Galleries," featuring the Ivalas Quartet.
With members from both the black and latinx communities, the Ivalas Quartet formed in part to bring greater visibility to musicians of color and be proof of the power of diversity in all art forms. Founded in Ann Arbor in 2016, the Ivalas Quartet is currently the Graduate String Quartet in Residence at CU Boulder, mentored by the famed Takács Quartet. Ivalas Quartet is composed of violinists Reuben Kebede and Anita Dumar, violist Aimée McAnulty, and cellist Pedro Sánchez. They will perform Mozart’s String Quartet No. 22 in B flat major K. 589 and George Walker’s String Quartet No. 1.
Join us for a program as exciting and eclectic as the record collection of Clyfford Still that inspires it. Experience live performances surrounded by Still’s vibrant paintings and award-winning architecture. A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
Music is free with admission to the galleries. As a part of our partnership, the museum is offering FCM patrons $5 half-price tickets (if purchased in advance) to enter the museum on performance days. To purchase discounted tickets, click here, and use Discount Code MIGPartners.
Please join us for one of these two identical performances:
1:00 - 1:45 PM
2:00 - 2:45 PM
Note: Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
