Music in the Galleries: Altius Quartet
Looking for a unique night out with friends or the perfect date night idea? Join us for an evening of music and art at the Clyfford Still Museum featuring the dynamic Altius Quartet. Start the evening by experiencing the Museum’s new exhibition Still: Elemental. Invigorate your senses with a concert by the award-winning and charismatic Altius Quartet, who have garnered an international reputation for furthering the art of chamber music to a wide variety of audiences. Enjoy light refreshments and immerse yourself in Still’s art with unique multi-sensory experiences in the Museum.
Deriving their name from the Olympic motto Citius, Altius, Fortius (Latin for Faster, Higher, Stronger), Altius strives to communicate art to a diverse audience through community engagement and innovative repertoire. The Altius Quartet performs at music festivals, universities, and concert series throughout the U.S. and has released two highly praised albums, “Dress Code” and “Shostakovich String Quartets Nos. 7,8 & 9.” The special event will feature Janácek’s String Quartet No. 2, “Intimate Letters,” and Ravel’s String Quartet in F Major.
Altius is comprised of Joshua Ulrich and Andrew Giordano, violin; Andrew Krimm, viola; and its newest member Erin Patterson, cello.
Doors open 6 p.m.; performance begins at 6:30 p.m.; galleries will remain open until 8 p.m.
The $30 regular tickets for this event are sold out, but we are offering a $15 listening ticket. The listening ticket allows patrons to sit in other spaces within the upper level galleries where they can hear the music, but cannot see the musicians. Light refreshments are included with the listening ticket.
This event is presented in partnership with our friends at the Clyfford Still Museum.
