Clap your hands and tap your feet while learning about rhythm and the sound patterns that create music.  This FREE family-friendly musical afternoon features Fourth Degree Percussion, an ensemble of musicians from the Lamont School of Music including Alec Flatness, Kevin Keith, James Nickell and Benjamin Yats.

Entertaining and instructive, Fourth Degree will demonstrate minimalist composition, phasing, hocket, and improvisation as they perform the following works:

Steve Reich: "Clapping Music"
John Eriksson: Tråd (for Marimba)
Andrew Beall: Rancho Jubilee (for Cajon trio)
Shaun Tilburg: Four-Minute Psychosis (for two snare drummers)
David Friedmann/Dave Samuels: Carousel (for jazz Marimba/vibraphone)
Wally Gunn: Ore (for two speaking percussionists)
Paul Lansky: Springs (for four multi percussionists)

We'll have refreshments and hands-on activities in the lobby following this interactive program.  Fun for all ages!
