Gates Hall at the University of Denver
With coral plaster walls and mahogany and gold trim, the June Swaner Gates Concert Hall has the atmosphere of an elegant European opera house. It accommodates 977 concert-goers, with clear views of the stage from every seat and exceptional acoustics.
Seating for both concert series, Chamber and Piano, is general admission, on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open a half-hour before show time. Although some concert-goers line up early to get their favorite location, there are no bad seats in this venue.

Parking & Directions
Newman Center Garage: Parking is available in the adjacent garage just south of the Newman Center for the Performing Arts on the University of Denver Campus. The garage is located at corner of University Blvd. and Wesley Ave., with the entrance off Wesley. The University of Denver charges a reasonable event parking fee of $8.00. This is where all handicapped parking is located. Other parking options include:
Hourly Parking: There are some hourly metered spaces in Lot H, approximately two blocks away from the Newman Center, west of the Iliff School of Theology and east of DU. Location is on S. Gaylord Street, north of Iliff Ave. The parking meter is at the north end of that line of parking spaces. Enter your license plate number and pay for the number of hours you want. Please note, there may be time limit maximums on these meters.

CAUTION: There have been significant changes to parking on the streets surrounding the Newman Center:
York Street: York Street between Wesley and Iliff (that is, the entire block that contains the Newman Center) is no longer available for public parking. Only University Lot U permit holders are allowed to park in that block of York St. All others will be ticketed.
Handicapped Parking: The only handicapped parking is now located in the Newman Center parking garage. Previous street parking for handicapped vehicles is now by permit only.
Street Parking: Parking on the street in the DU area is generally limited to one-hour (without a resident permit) and this limit is strictly enforced by the Denver Police Department. Street parking not limited to one hour is generally over 4 or 5 blocks from the DU campus perimeter.
