Tickets:  Free

Join Friends of Chamber Music, in partnership with the Clyfford Still Museum, for this free Friday event on the final weekend of Clyfford Still: The Works on Paper. We are excited to welcome back the Altius Quartet for a free performance at 6 p.m. Enjoy free admission from 5-8 p.m.

Altius Quartet, the Fellowship String Quartet-In-Residence at the University of Colorado Boulder, will be in the galleries performing Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 14 in C-sharp minor, Opus 131. Still played the piano and was a Beethoven enthusiast who described his own paintings as individual symphonies similar to the renowned composer's work.

One of eight string quartets selected worldwide to compete at the Seventh Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition, Altius has been described as "rich" and "captivating" by the award-winning music blog I care if you listen (.com). Dynamic performers, Altius has a full performance schedule, at venues including Carnegie Hall.

"Music in the Galleries" is offered in partnership with the Clyfford Still Museum  and Swallow Hill Music.  If you share Still’s appreciation for music, join us for this live performance in the galleries to experience his work through both sight and sound.
